The **Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves** are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the State of the Pueblo in Pueblo, Colo. The ThunderWolves have 16 varsity intercollegiate sports teams in the NCAA Division II and are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (with one team, women's lacrosse, in the Mountain Pacific Sports Федерации). **ThunderWolves history**

The university's athletic program began in 1933 with the formation of a men's track and field team. The first team to be known as the ThunderWolves was formed in 1968, when the school's athletic teams were known as the Bengals. In 1992, the university changed its name to the University of Southern, and the teams were known as the Eagles. In 2003, the university changed its name back to the University of Southern, and the teams were known as the ThunderWolves.
