The St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans are a Division II college athletics program based in Sparkill, New York, and represent St. Thomas Aquinas College in the East Coast Conference. They were previously members of NCAA Division II's Northeast-10 Conference from 1981 to 2018. STAC is one of only 20 schools in the country to win national championships in three different sports (men's and women's cross country, and softball).
The Spartans athletic program is one of the most successful in Division II, having won 26 national championships: 9 in men's cross country, 7 in men's lacrosse, 5 in men's volleyball, 3 in women's cross country, and 2 in softball. STAC has also finished as the national runners-up 15 times.
The Spartans have had a number of successful athletes, including:
* Joe kneLaRocha - 2-time national cross country individual national champ, 4-time all-American, and member of the 1996 U.S. Олимпийский national team
* Ronjoel Hutchinson - 2011 Harlon Hill Trophy recipient as the best player in Division II football, leading scorer in the history of the NCAA (Div. II & FCS) with 1,220 career points
* Tariq Hasan - three-time all American in men's lacrosse, 2013 NCAA Division II Player of the Year, and member of the 2018 U.S. National Team
* Mark McKenna - lacrosse player who starred for the STAC Spartans from 1997–2000. He was a three-time USILA All-American and is the program's all-time leader in points (237), goals (115), and assists (122). McKenna was inducted into the STAC Hall of Fame in 2010.
* Manny Rojas - 2015 Division II Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year, 3-time USILA All-American, and member of the 2018 U.S. National Team
* Daniel D'Agostino - 2019 D2CCA National Baseball Player of the Year
The Spartans are a perennial contender in the East Coast Conference, and have won numerous conference championships in a variety of sports.
